Candy AI Shorts is only partly free. Episode 1 of every series plays without an account, episode 2 needs a free Candy AI account (still no payment), and from episode 3 each episode costs tokens. So “free Candy AI Shorts” means two episodes per series, not whole series, with one exception covered below.
Candy AI Shorts free: exactly what you get
- Episode 1: plays right away. No account, no card, no email.
- Episode 2: opens with a free Candy AI account. You sign up; you don’t pay.
- Episode 3 and beyond: unlocked one at a time with tokens, 12 per episode on standard series and 30 on series starring a licensed creator.
- The exception: Simona Rossi: Wrong But Right hands you three free episodes before the tokens start.
One caveat: those rules cover the regular library. Candy keeps 15 “Spicy” series locked, and logged-out visitors can’t open them at all, so “episode 1 plays without an account” doesn’t reach those 15.
Why the free episodes feel tame
They’re meant to. The free episodes are suggestive: the setup, the tension, the teasing, then the cliffhanger. The explicit scenes arrive in the paid episodes, usually from episode 3. Think of episodes 1 and 2 as a trailer that happens to be a real part of the story.
That’s useful rather than annoying. Two episodes is enough to judge the premise, the look of the characters and the pacing before you spend a single token. If a series hasn’t hooked you by the end of episode 2, you’ve lost nothing but three minutes.
Making the most of the two free episodes
Treat episodes 1 and 2 as an audition. Ask three things: do you like the cast and the look, does the pacing suit you, and did the cliffhanger make you want episode 3? If the answer to the last one is no, close the tab and try another series; the library holds 175 of them.
Before episode 3, check two numbers on the series page: how many episodes it has, and whether it’s 12 or 30 tokens a paid episode. Here’s what a finished standard series looks like, episode by episode.
- Episode 1: free, no account.
- Episode 2: free, with a free account.
- Episode 3: 12 tokens.
- Episode 4: 12 tokens.
- Episode 5: 12 tokens. Total: 36 tokens, about $3.60.
What it costs to finish after the free part
Candy prices 200 tokens at $20, so one token is worth about $0.10. A standard five-episode series has three paid episodes: 36 tokens, about $3.60. A licensed-creator five-parter is 90 tokens, about $9. Longer series cost more simply because they have more paid episodes, and our price guide has the full table. Simona Rossi’s third free episode shaves 12 tokens, about $1.20, off its bill.
The cheapest legit way to keep watching
No subscription unlocks Candy Shorts by itself, but every paid Candy AI plan includes 100 tokens a month. That covers about eight standard paid episodes: two complete five-episode series plus two episodes of a third.
At Candy’s token price, 100 tokens is worth roughly $10. The 12-month plan works out to $3.99 a month ($47.88 billed once a year), so yearly billing is the cheapest way to get the tokens, while the one-month plan is $9.99 for the first month and $13.99 after that. Tokens also pay for pictures, video, voice calls and cams, so they disappear faster if you use those too.
See Candy AI PlansIs the free account worth making?
Yes, if episode 1 hooked you. Signing up is free, no payment is attached, and it’s the only way to reach episode 2. It also gives you a small taste of the rest of Candy AI: 5 chat messages in total, one custom character and one image, blurred if it’s NSFW. None of that costs anything, and none of it obliges you to buy a plan.
What “free” doesn’t mean
It doesn’t mean a free full series, a free trial of the paid episodes, or a plan that unlocks everything. It also doesn’t mean you should trust a site promising “full episodes free”; most of those are bait, and our page on leaked uploads explains why. If you’re asking about the app itself rather than the Shorts, see Is Candy AI free?
